What Is Splatapult?

Splatapult is a physics siege comedy game that puts you in command of a catapult on a sun-soaked tropical island. Developed by Recoil Mojo and published by Mojo Games, this game launched on Steam on June 30, 2026 for just $1.79.

The premise is straightforward: drag to aim your catapult, hold to charge power, and launch barnyard projectiles at enemy castles. Watch walls crumble, archers fly off towers, and grand wizards get flattened. The physics engine handles destruction, knockback, and structural collapse in real time, so every shot feels different.

Beyond the single-player campaign, Splatapult offers PvP and co-op multiplayer, a built-in map editor, full Steam Workshop support, and Steam Achievements.

Core Mechanics

Aiming and Power. Every shot has two variables: angle and power. Drag to set the trajectory arc, then hold to build charge. A longer charge sends the projectile farther but makes it harder to hit precise targets. The arc preview shows where your shot will land.

Ammo Types. Different projectiles behave differently:

  • Sheep — Standard projectile, good damage, moderate bounce
  • Cow — Heavy damage, low arc, crushes through walls
  • Chickens — Lightweight, scatters on impact, hits multiple targets
  • Explosive Barrels — Area damage, sets structures on fire

Destruction Physics. Walls have structural integrity. A single sheep hit might crack a wall, but a well-placed cow can bring down an entire tower. Chain reactions happen when one collapsing structure takes out adjacent ones.

Archers and Wizards. Enemy defenders shoot back. Archers fire arrows at your catapult crew, and wizards cast spells that can deflect projectiles or repair damaged walls. Take them out first for an easier siege.

Game Modes

Campaign. A series of pre-built siege scenarios with increasing difficulty. Each level introduces new castle layouts, enemy types, and objectives.

PvP. Face off against other players in turn-based siege battles. Each player gets the same number of shots. Highest score wins.

Co-op (up to 4 players). Team up to take down massive fortresses. Coordinate shots to maximize destruction.

Sandbox. Unlimited ammo, no enemy fire. Build your own castle in the map editor and test siege strategies.

Map Editor. Build custom castles block by block, place defenders, set up objectives, and share your creations on the Steam Workshop.

Tips and Strategies

Aim for weak points first. Corner towers and gatehouses are structural keystones. Take them out early and the rest of the castle becomes easier to breach.

Prioritize archers. Archers have the longest range and fastest fire rate. A single well-aimed chicken shot can clear an entire battlement.

Use the right ammo for the job. Sheep for precision work on walls, cows for heavy structural damage, chickens for clearing groups of defenders, explosive barrels for area denial.

Watch the wind indicator. Wind affects projectile trajectory. On windy levels, compensate by aiming slightly off-center.

Build your own murder castle. In the map editor, experiment with overhangs, layered walls, and kill zones. The best castles use geometry to deflect incoming projectiles.

Multiplayer Guide

In PvP mode, the key is resource management. You have a limited number of shots per round. Don't waste them on cosmetic damage — focus on structural takedowns that make it harder for your opponent to score. In co-op, communication matters. Coordinate who takes out defenders and who goes for structural damage.

The Steam Workshop integration means new maps, ammo types, and game modes appear regularly. Check the Workshop tab for community creations.
